An inkpad holder for $6?

Yep, that's how much this thing cost me. Of course it required some careful measuring and a bit of effort, but two sheets of foam core are all I had to buy. And I still have half a sheet left over. It honestly took me three times longer to put together instructions and pattern pieces to share than to actually make the thing. (Can you tell I'm still working on completing my color collections? I'm about to order the rest of the Bold Brights. Then the Soft Subtles for Christmas!)

***PLEASE do not even consider using these instructions to build inkpad holders for sale! I clearly ask, both in the PDF file and below, that you not use my FREE instructions for monetary gain. I chose to make these instructions freely available for personal use only. Please do not abuse my gift. ***

  6. I just made this. The whole time I just kept thinking how awesome you are for being able to figure this out. I had a hard enough time making sure I had the measurements right, so I can't imagine the time it took you to create it. AWESOME! I love it. I actually got my foam core at the dollar store, so mine was 2.00 plus glue. Thanks again.

  28. Hey everyone! I've triple-checked the link and it's working fine. If you can view a PDF file, you should have no problems. If you right click on the link and choose 'Save target as' or 'Save link as' (depending on your browser), you can save it directly to your hard drive without going through the browser version of Adobe Reader.

    ReplyDelete
  29. That way worked! Thanks so much Stacey!!!!!

  30. Thanks Debi! I actually got it to download from here after Stacey posted how to do it. However, if the direction you get are for the modified one for the ribbon and reinkers, I'd LOVE to have that one as well! My email is tessylee@yahoo.com

    Thanks again!

  31. Thanks so much Stacey. I was able to get it to download in pdf from the link this time. Don't you just love 'puters?

  33. I'm sorry - but I still cannot download the inkpad for $6 - the page comes up telling me this is not avaiable - any other suggestions? Thanks

  34. Perhaps try again in a few minutes? I just opened the file by clicking on the link, so everything is working as it should. The file is located on my server; if the server is up, the file is available, and I have 99% server uptime. However, if several people are trying to download the file at the same time, it might take a bit longer, and your browser might time out before it can access the file. (The PDF has been downloaded successfully close to 7,000 times. Shoulda charged a dollar for it!!)

  35. This is great! I can't wait to go get the supplies and make one! I was also thinking that if you modified it to make more narrow columns, say for paint or other supples, then wanted 'adjustable shelves in them, you could use pins to hold the shelf in place, and easily move it when you needed to. Might just work!

  36. Thank you so much for sharing...I just tried one of these and love it... Thinking about trying a smaller version for ribbons...thanks again.

  37. Stacey -

Awesome ink pad holder! Thank you for sharing the instructions. I'm cutting my pieces right now, but there's no measurement for the side pieces in the instructions. Maybe you could add them to the file?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hi Prissy,
On page five of the PDF file, there's a template for the side pieces that you can cut out and trace. Also on the template itself are measurements for the various edge lengths on that piece.

  39. Thank you so much for sharing your plans. I just made one and it is exactly what I was looking for! Just be careful to not burn your finger on the hot glue. ;)

I'll be heading out first thing in the morning to get the materials! I'd love to modify mine so that I have individual cubbies for each ink pad. But I'm not nearly as good as you are! Thank you again soooo very much!

  58. Ladies,

I was also having trouble opening the link; when using Internet Explorer I got a message that my browser doesn't support the document. When using Google Chrome, it just directed me to another Google page. I installed "Google Drive" to my computer and now I am able to open the file! Hope this helps those of you who, like me, recently found this awesome pattern and want to make it. Thank you SO much for sharing this with us, Stacey!
